Walk into any staffroom and you’ll soon hear the same refrain: “I’ve no time to keep rewriting my lesson plans, but the class is miles apart in ability.” The National Curriculum gives us clear endpoints, yet the journey there is rarely linear. If we keep marching everybody through an identical PowerPoint, we risk losing the strugglers, boring the high-flyers and exhausting ourselves in the process.
